Originally from the United Kingdom, Tony emigrated to Canada at an early age, grew up in Mississauga and Oakville, Ontario, started his career in Toronto, and later moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he now resides. His northern and rural employment has been in Saddle Lake, Peace River, and Fort McMurray, Alberta. With career experience in policing, security management, and investigations (including fraud), Tony became an instructor in a postsecondary Police and Security Diploma Program and taught online for a university’s Security Management Certificate Program. As a Master of Distance Education alumnus of Athabasca University, Tony is passionate about distance and e-learning. In January 2011, he commenced a PhD program through the University of Leicester. His field of study is e-learning and learning technologies in self-directed work-based learning.
Tony is also an independent Life, Accident, and Sickness Insurance Agent/Broker, operating as Ratcliffe Wealth & Risk Management.
Tony is available to research, develop courses, and provide online facilitation in his education and career subject areas.
