Congrats to our friends, Scott and Sandra Ards, on their opening of Bistro Saisons in Oliver Village (11358 104 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada). They start today with dinner, followed by dinners tomorrow and Saturday. As of Monday, they will be open for lunch and dinner, and closed Sundays. My wife and I were pleased to be invited to a menu preview last night. I enjoyed the Pork Cheeks appetizer (braised Pembina pork cheeks, red quinoa pancake, with wine-poached apples) and Walleye for the main course (pan roasted and caressed by Sauce Maltaise, with red quinoa and organic vegetables). Lupe had the daily soup, Cream of Wild Mushroom with drizzle of truffle oil and cheese gourgère, followed by Pork Shank (braised alongside apples, with potato “risotto” and warm savoy cabbage).
We very much enjoyed the presentation and taste of our meals, and the service, and we look forward to returning to try other items on their unique menu.
